Possessing 50 years of nursing experience in obstetrics and gynecology, Lt. Colonel Alexe M. Baker is hereby recognized for her proficiency in the field of medicine and dedication to the United States Air Force. Lt. Col. Baker’s military career spans over two decades; prior to her retirement, she served in the Vietnam War, earning the title of Lieutenant Colonel, and served as Nurse Practitioner for the Nurse Corps. She has received numerous accolades, including the Memorial Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Armed Forces Reserved Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal and many more. Specializing in female health management, Lt. Col. Baker now focuses her efforts on community service. She counsels youth, assists veterans, and makes public speaking engagements. She also contributes to Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Disabled American Veterans, The American Legion and Women in Military Service for America.

Recently honored as Cambridge Who’s Who® Professional of the Year in Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing, Lt. Col. Baker attributes her success to her perseverance, passion for helping veterans and educating youth, and the support she has received from her mentors, especially that of her father, the late Col. Leonard Johnson Jr.

Lt. Col. Baker holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Kansas, a Master of Arts in public administration with a concentration in executive development from Ball State University, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. She is a registered nurse and an advanced registered nurse practitioner, as well as a certified sex counselor.
