Yuba City, California | November 12, 2010 | Anita L. Hilton-Eiben, RN has been recognized by Elite American Nurses for her dedication, achievements, and leadership in home health care.
An expert in hospice care coordination, Ms. Hilton-Eiben is the team leader, coordinator, and emergency room nurse for AIM Home Health. Having worked as a registered nurse for 10 years, she draws on her previous experience working at the Ben Taub General Hospital, a level one trauma center in Houston, Texas, to hone her skills for her daily responsibilities. Along with administering care, she is in charge of managing all aspects of the trauma care unit, including the nurses and staff. An impassioned health care provider, Ms. Hilton-Eiben credits the fast-paced work environment and her capacity to help others as the most rewarding and motivating aspect of her career.
Ms. Hilton-Eiben attributes her success to her learning skills, passion for helping others, and to the support and inspiration she received from her parents. After the death of her mother, she chose to enter the hospice care field in her memory and to make her proud. Likewise, Ms. Hilton-Eiben completed an associate degree and became a registered nurse. To date, she considers her greatest career accomplishment to be saving a baby’s life after noticing that the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck. Her fearlessness in the face of a crisis situation has separated her from her colleagues and demonstrated her true passion for her profession.
In her spare time, Ms. Hilton-Eiben enjoys admiring nature, recycling, and spending time with her husband, Leland, and their son, Adam. For 12 years, she exhibited her capacity as an entrepreneur by owning an auto-parts store with her husband. Further, she has dabbled in television, having appeared on “Rescue 911,” an informational reality-based program that ran from 1989 to 1996. In the future, Ms. Hilton-Eiben intends to continue helping the needy and parlaying her learned wisdom onto nurses emerging in the field. To be successful in nursing, Ms. Eiben-Hilton reminds her successors that they must understand the patient’s needs and prioritize them over all else.
