BUFFALO, NY, April 17, 2012, Ava Maria Sammarco, LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse for Park Creek, has been recognized by Elite American Nurses for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing.
Ms. Sammarco specializes in geriatric and acute care, and in her current capacity within the residential care center, she is responsible for teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid procedures, supervising licensed practical nurses, and assisting in geriatric and acute care nursing. Over the course of an illustrious career that has spanned more than 34 years, Ms. Sammarco has been refining a growing skill set, and she continues to strive for excellence in her every endeavor.
In addition to the leadership role that she fulfills at Park Creek, Ms. Sammarco also hosts a radio show called “Nurses Notes” and a television show called “Health Focus.” She was cast as a nurse in the film titled “Seven Buddies,” which was scheduled for release in July 2010. She is currently pursuing an Associate Degree at Excelsior College, and she holds accreditations as a Licensed Practical Nurse, which she attained from Niagara County Community College; she is also a Certified CPR Instructor.
Inspired by a lifelong interest in nursing, Ms. Sammarco embarked on a professional journey that would enable her to help people to achieve optimal health. She remains abreast of trends and developments in nursing as a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and attributes her success to her hard work and perseverance, and the support she receives from her mother, Eleanor, and her father, Samuel. She supports such worthy causes as the Nurses Christian Fellowship, Hunter’s Hope, the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and HealthFocus International.
