El Granada, California | October 20, 2010 | Barbara Ellen Quinn-Fulks, RN, a patient advocate for Better Healthcare, has been recognized by Elite American Nurses for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in her career.

Ms. Quinn-Fulks has been working as an emergency, operating room, recovery room and occupational health nurse for nearly four decades. She excels in patient advocacy and has dedicated her career to assisting patients with their personal health care needs. She also does public speaking.

She is certified in advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. She completed coursework in biological sciences at the University at Albany, State University of New York. A member of the California Nurses Association, she was a Women’s Hall of Fame nominee and was honored by the United States Air Force for her “Outstanding Contribution as a Newspaper Columnist” during Vietnam. She also received an “Outstanding Leadership as Director of Family Services” merit award.

Ms. Quinn-Fulks names St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Hospitalized Veterans, North Shore Animal League, Salesian Society, Hanna Boys Center, Father Flanagan’s Boy’s Town, The Passionists of Holy Cross Province, and Catholic Charities CYO as her favorite causes. She hopes to volunteer for hospice units and become a chaplain.
