She goes out and lectures on ending the silence of sexual assault, getting her message out there so victims can get the help they need in order to heal. Ms. Puglisi Sharp’s story was covered on the A&E Biography series, “I Survived.” She has also appeared on the Discovery Channel, Oprah and “20/20.” Her book, “Shattered, Reclaiming a Life Torn Apart by Violence” has become required reading for victim courses offered at several colleges and universities throughout the United States.

Ever passionate about spreading awareness and consciousness, Ms. Puglisi Sharp has garnered a reputation of distinction among her audience and survivors of crises. She is a recipient of the 2007 Special Courage Award, as granted by the United States Attorney General, and the 2012 Woman of the Year Award, as granted by Delaware Tech and Community College. Ms. Puglisi Sharp is a per diem registered nurse of hospice care, and she has spoken at the Mid Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network, among many other platforms. She is a member of the Criminal Justice Advisory Board at Wilmington University, and the board of directors of the National Coalition of Victims in Action; she is also co-chair of the Sexual Assault Network of Delaware, and a board member of ContactLifeline.
