Over the course of her 31-year career in patient care, Ms. Scott has distinguished herself for her compassion for others and earnest desire to make a difference. She lends her expertise to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. As an RN, she is entrusted with the management of 20 to 30 cases in the areas of pediatric, maternity and medical-surgical nursing. She completes rotations, precepts on the floor and for case management, and works in the intensive care unit. Ms. Scott considers being of service to be the most rewarding aspect of her career as a nurse.

Ms. Scott earned a Master of Science in nursing and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she was a member of the honors society. Additionally, she received an Associate of Applied Science from New York City College of Technology, a certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and a Certified Professional in Utilization Review (CPUR) certification.

Organizations of which Ms. Scott is a member include the National Council of Negro Women, the Arthritis Foundation, Mount Carmel Baptist Church, and the American Association of University Women. She volunteers regularly in local health fairs. As she moves forward in her career, Ms. Scott aspires to complete a Ph.D., teach as an adjunct professor, and become the director of a nursing facility.
