Jacqueline Gay Bitner is the Lead Nurse at the Walter B. Jones Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center. In her current capacity, Ms. Bitner is responsible for serving as a preceptor, and leading orientees through the process of becoming expert nurses. She also performs nursing assessments, administers medication and engages in patient counseling. With more than three decades of professional experience under her belt, Ms. Bitner shines as a luminary in the field of nursing, attributing her success to her compassionate nature. She refined a sophisticated skill set which encompasses counseling proficiencies, Ms. Bitner stands apart from other nursing professionals because she continues to expand on her ever-emergent skill set; while working in a medical school as a nursing specialist II, she worked closely with both doctors and with fellows. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University, and she supports a number of worthy causes in her community, including those at her local church.
