Celebrating a career spanning more than four decades, Ms. Brown continues to stand out in nursing because of her holistic view of the patient, health care and society. She attributes this perspective to her diverse nursing background, which encompasses geriatrics, home health care and medical-surgical care. Recognized with the Palmetto Gold Award in 2006, she acknowledges that her success is a result of her ongoing education and focus on real issues in health care.

Moving forward, Ms. Brown intends to complete a Master of Public Health, which she is currently pursuing at University of Phoenix. She also hopes to further utilize her knowledge through opportunities in patient advocacy and expert witness testimony.
