Lisa Hastings, RN, CCM is a Registered Nurse and Certified Case Manager for Wishard Health Services in Greenfield, Indiana. For nearly 25 years, Ms. Hastings has been building on an ever-emergent skill set, which currently encompasses dexterous work with trauma situations. She currently meets with doctors to facilitate quality patient care before and upon release from the hospital, accesses patients’ situations and injuries, and interviews families to learn of patients’ social behavior and financial situations. She also verifies insurance benefits, coordinates care after patients leave the hospital, deals with doctors and patients that are out of state, trains new doctors and interns, helps interns and new member of her community to progress in their careers, and gives presentations every six weeks. For more than 12 years, Ms. Hastings has been serving as a trauma and orthopedic case manager at one of the only two level-one trauma centers in the state of Indiana. She became involved in her profession because her grandmother was a registered nurse and a great role model. She also loves helping people.
