Liv T. Shepherd Gray is a School Health Nurse for the Department of Public Health of the Guilford County Government. In her capacity, Ms. Gray is in charge of working with several schools in the district, training staff, and teaching health education. She also acts as a liaison between the health department, schools and doctors, and trains the school staff in the safe and regulation-compliant administration of medications. She specializes in student health care, and became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her mother, a nurse, to help people and make a difference in their lives. Ms. Gray is one of 30 nurses who oversees the district’s 100 schools.
