Over the course of her 44-year career in nursing, Ms. Swaby Nugent has developed a broad knowledge base that includes cardiothoracic surgery, left ventricular device and heart transplant surgery, robotics, renal transplants, and hemodialysis. Holding a master’s degree from Long Island University in public administration and health care management, she is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Alpha Chi. Ms. Swaby Nugent is proud that her children are also pursuing medical careers: one of her children is a practicing medical doctor in California and the other is beginning medical school this year.
