Roanoke, VA, June 22, 2011, Robyn Newcomb, CyberKnife Coordinator and Registered Nurse for Carilion Clinic, has been recognized by Elite American Nurses for dedication, achievements and leadership in nursing.

For more than a decade, Ms. Newcomb has coordinated the use of the CyberKnife robotic radiosurgical system at Carilion Clinic, which is only one of three health care institutions in the state of Virginia to offer the service. She is responsible for organizing and implementing treatments to patients, as well as managing their medications. Her expertise is regularly requested at radiation oncology departments at cancer centers in the surrounding area. 

Holding an associate degree in nursing, Ms. Newcomb has received certifications in advanced cardiac life support, basic life support, procedural sedation, and pediatric advanced life support. In order to stay abreast of industry changes, she maintains her high level of health care knowledge through her memberships to the Virginia Nurses Association, the CyberKnife Society and the American Nurses Association. She believes that her successful 30-year career in health care is a result of her desire to succeed and her passion for her profession.
