As a result of her proven expertise in patient care and health information systems, Ms. Markem has enjoyed her position as the advanced nursing coordinator for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System for the past three years. Primarily, she acts as a liaison between the information technology and nursing departments. She designs information systems for the clinician while ensuring that changes within the systems do not affect the departments. Holding a master’s degree in nursing administration, she also deftly coordinates with three team members to manage the care for patients in the intensive care unit and recovery room. 

In five years, Ms. Markem hopes to acquire a certification in nursing informatics and experience continued growth.
