A sophisticated background in oncology and oncology treatment, and in the development of teams and staff, currently allows Ms. McAllister to take on the responsibility of daily operations of each department of Pacific Medical Centers, in her present role as practice manager. She also works closely with clinic physicians, lead staff and supervisors to provide excellent patient care and excellent care experience, and oversees department financials, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and improvement. Ms. McAllister meets staffing needs, hires, trains and mentors supervisors, and works in infusion on occasion to assist with staffing needs, and manages the interventional pain management department.
Ms. McAllister has over 32 years of nursing experience. Although her title suggests a smaller area of responsibility, she is the practice manager of oncology, infusion, GI, interventional pain management, She enjoys staff development and team achievement of excellence in patient care. She worked at the Swedish Cancer Institute for five years as a supervisor in the infusion center. Ms. McAllister is a Certified Nurse through the Oncology Nursing Society, and she holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and an RN through the University of Portland. She attributes her success to excellent mentors who trusted her and provided her with great opportunities to succeed. She is a high achiever and feels the best way to get results is to be kind and fair, look at the bigger picture and allow staff members to have involvement in decisions affecting their work environment.
