COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, April 3, 2014, Marilynn E. Doenges, APRN, a retired Registered Nurse, has been recognized by Elite American Nurses for dedication, achievements and leadership in nursing education.

Ms. Doenges always knew she wanted to be a nurse and started training in the field when she was 17. She served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army Nurse Corps during World War II and dedicated 68 years of service to the health care field. An expert in psychiatric nursing, Ms. Doenges spent her days teaching nursing, caring for patients and mentoring up-and-coming professionals.

After retiring, Ms. Doenges started writing books. She has authored and co-authored many nursing books, including “The Nursing Diagnosis Manual: Planning, Individualizing and Documenting Client Care.” Ms. Doenges believes that she was successful throughout her illustrious career because she was passionate about her work.
